The omnidirectional barcode scanners from the Mini-X product family are designed for reading barcodes in any orientation. This is achieved by an optical arrangement of multiple, intersecting scan lines, integrated within a compact housing. Barcodes can be identified at distances ranging from 500 to 1800 mm. A total of six configurations are available to meet diverse reading requirements. With DRX defragmentation technology, even severely damaged or poorly printed codes can be reliably reconstructed. The TachTrac function assigns the correct read result to the corresponding object when multiple items appear within the scanning window. The decoded read result is transmitted via RS 232, RS 422, or RS 485 interfaces.

Application Area:

The Mini-X omnidirectional barcode scanner for arbitrarily oriented barcodes is used for identifying non-aligned objects or code labels, particularly in variant manufacturing, material flow control, and load detection. To expand the scanning width, multiple scanners can be operated side by side. Typical applications include order picking and returns handling in mail order or e-commerce for so-called “small items,” such as CDs, books, or videos, as well as sorting in distribution centers. Additional uses include the identification of rims or bodies in automotive production or packages at parcel services.
