Finishing of sealing surfaces
The finishing of the sealing surfaces on approximately 17-meter-long tubes is performed by an NC-controlled feed unit and an NC-controlled facing slide equipped with two ABS tool holders. These holders can accommodate either turning tools, measuring sensors, or measuring probes. The workpiece is first measured using sensors in the slide heads and aligned via adjustable roller supports. Once the tube is positioned at a right angle and centered relative to the facing slide head, it is hydraulically clamped in place by the floating jaw. The interchangeable measuring sensors determine the surface machining process.
