Operating Principle

The safety workbench is a laboratory device in which the working chamber maintains a largely turbulence-free (laminar) displacement flow.

The air circulating through the work area, as well as the exhaust air, is filtered by high-performance particulate air filters.

Scope of Delivery and Equipment

- Model Variants
The safety workbench is manufactured in three different sizes: BDK-S 1200, 1500, and 1800.

- Air Monitoring
The air flow velocity in both the recirculated air (downflow work chamber) and exhaust air (inflow-exhaust) is monitored by flow sensors. Any detected disruptions are indicated by a warning light and an acoustic signal.

- Viewing Panel Monitoring
The safety laminated glass viewing panel is counterbalanced for easy, stepless manual adjustment. If the panel is not in the working position (opening larger than 190 mm), this is indicated on the display and by an acoustic signal.

- Control Panel
All necessary control elements for operation, including membrane keypad, buzzer, indicator lights, and display for various operating states, are arranged on the control panel.

- Microprocessor Control
The microprocessor control is self-monitoring and continuously displays airflow velocity.

- Device Depth < 800 mm (840 mm)
Thanks to its minimal installation depth, the safety workbench fits through all standard laboratory doors.

- Housing Design
For safety reasons, the housing is constructed from 1.5 mm thick Zincor sheet steel with welded pressure zones.

- Contamination Areas
All contamination areas are flushed with negative pressure.
