From German federal stock, we are pleased to offer this exceptionally well-maintained "Vitek 2 XL" system from the world-renowned manufacturer BioMérieux, directly from first ownership.

As a fully automated system for rapid identification of pathogens and resistance detection, the Vitek2 system is now indispensable in medical laboratories worldwide!

The system was purchased by the federal government in 11/2013 and has been continuously serviced and maintained in accordance with a service contract—the last inspection and maintenance performed up to 08/2023. At the end of 2022, the device was decommissioned fully operational due to a replacement purchase.

All components are in excellent optical and technical condition, with no significant damage—minor scratches and discolorations on the housing are consistent with normal use and do not impair functionality in any way.

Description:

The VITEK 2 system provides everything clinical laboratories need for rapid and precise microbial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing.

The system is used for microbiological identification of pathogens of animal origin. It enables fast and accurate antibiotic susceptibility testing as well as resistance detection. The automated system delivers susceptibility test results on the same day (with results in as little as 5 hours, according to clinical study data). This significantly improves workflow in veterinary diagnostic laboratories and optimizes clinical veterinary microbiology.

The VITEK 2 system offers a comprehensive range of essential susceptibility tests for veterinary diagnostics and is distinguished by its high performance and its ability to detect even low-level resistances and novel resistance mechanisms (AmpC, ESBL, MBL, etc.). Software is updated annually to reflect any taxonomical developments or guideline changes.

VITEK 2 disposable cards are sealed to avoid contamination during the filling of bacterial suspensions.
