The abbreviation LARC stands for Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo. This refers to the rear ramp of the vehicles, which allowed the military to transport a truck or other military equipment. The XV following LARC indicates the maximum transportable weight: 15 tonnes.

The vehicles are constructed from aluminium and have the following precise dimensions: 13.71 m in length, 4.41 m in width, and 4.70 m in height (American measurements: 45 ft x 15 ft x 14 ft).

The original LARC vehicles were equipped with two Cummins 8-cylinder diesel engines, each producing 300 hp. This enabled the vehicles to achieve a top speed of 48 km/h on land and 9.5 knots on water, which is approximately 18 km/h.

The unladen weight of the vehicle is 22 tonnes. The maximum permissible weight is 35.5 tonnes.

The previous owner intended to convert the boats to a fully electric drive system to organise sightseeing tours on the Wadden Sea.

Approximately €200,000 was invested, however the project was not completed.

The diesel engines have been removed and are no longer available.

Battery packs are present and partially installed.

It is not known exactly what work still needs to be completed.
