This gear unit was installed in a railway shunting winch system for freight trains, but the system was never put into operation. The gearbox was stored in a dry winch house.

The gearbox series include three- and four-stage gear units with hardened gears. The shafts are mounted on roller bearings. Splash lubrication is used. The spur gears and shafts are positively connected by feather keys. The external dimensions of the housings are the same for both three- and four-stage variants of a given size. In the four-stage version, the input shaft is positioned below the mid-plane. The housing is made of cast iron. The gear units can be operated in both rotational directions.
