Power & Free conveyor systems

Overhead Power & Free conveyor systems are equipped with free trolleys that are driven by chains and carriers, transporting material to designated locations.

The carriers are attached to the free trolleys and are generally engaged with the drive chain by a dog fixed to the free trolley. The dog can be disengaged via a cam action either within the free trolley or on the chain carrier, which is triggered by accumulating behind another free trolley or by engaging a stop blade. The chain continues to move while the carrier temporarily stops until the free trolley is re-engaged with the chain.
