The Multibend 2000 RAS 74.30 folding machine, manufactured by RAS Reinhardt Maschinenbau GmbH, is a universal folding machine with a swivel beam, CNC control, a wide range of segmented tooling, and a working length of 3200 mm, designed for bending steel sheets (400 MPa). A manual or intelligent crowning system is built directly into the bending beam to ensure precise and uniform bends along the entire working length. The elastic deformation of the bending beam depends on the sheet thickness, its strength, properties, bending length, and its position on the support rail. Sensors integrated in the bending beam register its actual deflection during the first 10 degrees of bending, after which the system sends a command to actuators that adjust the camber of the beam accordingly. This compensation eliminates beam deflection. The control system stores all parameters for each new bend and applies them for future operations. The bend line is always perfectly straight with the specified radius, regardless of metal thickness, length, ductility and strength, segment height, or their position in the bending zone of the beam.
