Schmedt PRÄDEKA XL

PräDeka XL is a semi-automatic case-making machine designed for producing book covers in single units as well as small and medium runs. The machine can handle formats from 15 x 15 cm up to 52 x 110 cm. The short setup time enables economical production starting from just one piece up to medium runs of approximately 2,000 pieces. The machine is operated by a single person, who applies glue to the cover material (using a separate gluing machine, e.g., PräziCoat) and places the cardboard boards (liners) on the designated spots. The machine then wraps the cover material on two sides. After the operator rotates the cover by 90 degrees, the machine wraps the remaining two edges and presses all the folds.

In addition to book covers, the PräDeka XL can be used to produce almost any product with wrapped cover material—both around a single or multiple board liners, including asymmetrical configurations. This includes binder covers, menu covers, photo albums, folders, diploma holders, sample swatch cases, calendar heads, board game panels, and more.
