E-commerce parcel sorter manufactured by VanRiet (Van Riet Material Handling Systems BV). Dismantled and ready for transport.

The sorter consists of:

a) three roller conveyor lines with 72 dispatch stations
b) one additional roller conveyor line
c) parallel to each dispatch line (3 lines) and to the returns line (1 line) runs a conveyor belt line for removing unnecessary cartons (leading outside the building to a compactor container, which is not included in this offer)

d) one line for parcel chutes to 46 locations, equipped with a scanner for measuring dimension and weight of each parcel

The sorter’s throughput is rated at 6,000 parcels per hour. The valuation includes supplementary photographic documentation illustrating the technical condition of the assessed items, as well as detailed photos of the sorter’s components.

The operational workflow of the sorter is based on preparation for dispatch and assignment of each parcel to a specific carrier. The goods should be packed in a cardboard box or polybag. Next, an operator scans the item and generates a label for the box or polybag. Information about the box/container is then sent by the sorter to the VanRiet controller. Meanwhile, the box/container is loaded by the operator onto the loading line. The products are conveyed down the line, then merged onto a single transport line. At the end of the merging section, a scanner with camera identifies the product, measures its dimensions, and the item is then sorted into the assigned output (pickup location for parcels ready to be shipped).

The VanRiet sorter is adapted to handle products of various sizes. It can process cartons with a length of 150-800 mm, width 100-600 mm, height 10-400 mm, and weight from 0.25 kg to 32 kg. Polybags with a length of 200-550 mm, width 150-550 mm, height 13-400 mm, and weight from 0.25 kg to 10 kg.

The sorter can handle up to 6,000 parcels per hour, with shipments distributed to one of 46 destinations. A general diagram of the sorter is presented below. Lines no. 1-3 are for outbound shipments, and line no. 4 (added in 2020) is used for handling returns.
