The digitized scanning electron microscope DSM 962 is equipped with an integrated 4 MB image memory, a 40 MB hard disk for internal image storage, as well as drives for the external storage of data and images.

This enables quick and easy acquisition of insights regarding the composition and morphology of specimen surfaces down to the sub-micron range. With a magnification range from 5x to 300,000x, the examination of both macrostructures and microstructures is possible.

By using special accessories, the range of applications can be significantly expanded, enabling, for example, analytical investigations on micro-areas of the surface.

Operation of the device can be performed using conventional control elements or, optionally, via keyboard and mouse. Electron optics and vacuum control are operated conventionally. Image memory functions are controlled via keyboard or mouse (optional). Centrally located on the control panel is a separate information display for menu visualization.

This user manual is intended as a guide to help users achieve optimal results with the device. The explanations are kept as simple as possible to provide even less experienced users with the necessary knowledge.
