Automatic tray sealer including module for creating a protective atmosphere. Optionally, a protective gas mixture and/or vacuum is generated inside the tray before sealing the tray with film. For an additional charge, a skin-vacuum module can be integrated into the packaging machine. The AMTEC tray sealer is therefore particularly suitable for products from the food industry, as the displacement of oxygen keeps food products fresh and extends shelf life.
