This system was designed for the following application:
Diffusion welding machine for joining the armature lead to the commutator for starter armatures by means of diffusion welding.

Diffusion welding device (also known as polymer diffusion welding device, diffusion welder, copper soft welding machine, copper strip welding device), consisting of main machine and control unit, "PLC control, touchscreen operation."

Process description

The workpiece carrier enters the station and is lifted.
The alignment gripper takes the armature from the WT and aligns it to the welding position.
The loading gripper takes over the armature and places it into the welding chuck.
The welding chuck moves the armature into the welding position.
Contact and welding cylinder move together and the first weld takes place.
This process is repeated until the armature is fully welded.
The welding chuck moves the armature to the transfer position, and the unloading gripper takes over the armature and places it back onto the lifted WT.
The workpiece carrier is lowered.
Workpiece carriers with IO armatures continue on the conveyor system; NIO (non-conforming) armatures are routed to the removal conveyor.
At one welding machine, IO armatures are marked at the face side of the commutators at a stamping station with a color marking, allowing identification during final inspection as to which welding machine produced the armature.
