Nitrogen inertization with residual oxygen monitoring
With nitrogen inertization, the test chamber is first flushed with large quantities of N2 until the
oxygen content is below 3%. Afterwards, it switches to a base flow rate (approx. 10% of the main flush rate).
The nitrogen flow of the base rate is measured with a flowmeter, displayed,
and monitored by a limit switch.
The O2 monitoring system continuously extracts gas from the test chamber
through a flame arrestor and passes it over an O2 sensor that checks the residual oxygen content of the extracted air.
The gas is then returned to the test chamber through a second flame arrestor.
The extraction pump is monitored by a flow rate meter. Further details can
be found in the user manual from Dräger (see appendix).
The gas system is currently out of operation!
