Concept:
The planed workpieces are placed onto the cross conveyor, which serves as an infeed magazine.
Two workpieces are then fed in sequence and processed.
A milling spindle, mounted on a carriage, mills the radius of each workpiece consecutively.
A saw unit separates the parts after milling.

A gripper holds the part and subsequently guides it through the grinding units.
1 automatic edge milling machine:
- 2 x infeed magazines as cross conveyors with 4 infeed belts
Wood length min. 600 mm, max. 1200 mm
- Base frame: robust welded construction made of profile steel tubing
- Milling unit with:
- 1 milling spindle, 9,000 rpm, 2 kW motor, variable frequency drive
- X-Z traverse with linear guides, ball screw, NC servo motor
- (Both spindles move synchronously along the contour)
- Saw unit with saw blade d = 300 mm, 3,500 rpm, 2 kW
- 1 gripper for workpieces, which grips the parts at the saw and then feeds them through the grinding units
- 4 grinding units, each with a 1 kW grinding motor, approx. 800 rpm, manually adjustable
- Electro-pneumatic control via PLC B+R with 10" touchscreen control panel, pneumatics from Festo
- Machine supplied complete with 2 extraction ports (diameter 120 mm),
without cutter heads, without grinding wheels,
with 1 saw blade and 1 milling cutter
- Feed axis right/left, separately constructed with 2 NC axes for workpiece feed
- Brushing station:
2 brushes each on NC traverses, program-controlled movement relative to workpiece dimensions
- Fault detection:
Faults must be marked on the workpiece with chalk and inserted at the correct position. A sensor detects the chalk marking and diverts the part into a scrap chute. The process continues uninterrupted; only defective parts are excluded from brushing.
- Central lubrication, automatically controlled via control panel
- Clamping position measuring system:
If variations are detected, the control system automatically compensates for dimensional differences.
- Waste removal via conveyor belt
Finished wood dimensions:
min. 32 x 16 mm
max. 64 x 62 mm
Finished wood length:
min. 32 mm
max. 320 mm
Rectangular and round bars can be processed.
Standard wood lengths: 1200 mm or 600 mm (these cannot be mixed!).
