The Prüfpuls system is designed for long-term insulation tests on test specimens with capacities up to 6 nF.

Converter for High-Voltage Test Transformer

· Internal sine wave generator: 50-200 Hz.
· Sine wave pulse width modulation 16-24 kHz via full-bridge.
· Converter voltage adjustable from 0-600V, Imax=2.6A, maximum output 1.3kW
· Pulse current limiter 110A (cutoff threshold)

Pulse Transformer – Control

· Controlled via full-bridge
· Full-bridge power supply adjustable 0-1000V, max. 1.3A
· Pulse current limiter 100A (cutoff threshold)

· Pulse width 20-120μs, nominal 94μs, adjustable
· 2 selectable series inductors: 150μH, 300μH to adapt pulse width or rise time to load capacitance and voltage.
· Pulse repetition rate adjustable 0.1 – 2.5 kHz.
· Polarity: selectable positive, negative, or alternating according to the sine signal polarity.
· Cosine-shaped pulse at transformer output

Pulse Transformer Cascade

· Output transformers in 5-stage cascaded configuration.
· Total transmission ratio selectable via taps: 1:7.7, 1:10 or 1:15.
· Maximum output voltage 15kV at possible load capacitances of:* 6nF with a pulse width of 73μs at a repetition frequency of 2.5kHz * 10nF with a pulse width of 103μs at a repetition frequency of 1.25kHz
· Voltage divider 1:1000 in parallel.
· Overvoltage protection at approx. 20-23 kV via parallel spark gaps
· Thermistor for overtemperature detection in the first transformer stage.
· Ground-side current measurement socket 100 mV/A.

Breakdown Detection, Testing

· High voltage is switched off in case the maximum bridge currents for transformer control or power supplies are exceeded.
· The device features a resettable operating hours counter for test time monitoring.
