Machine characteristics: The CORMAK HBS260 is a horizontal metal band saw with a swiveling arm, enabling cutting perpendicular to the axis of the material or at any angle from 0 to 60°. Material can be fed manually or by any mechanical means, while the tool feed operates automatically. The blade guides are equipped with special carbide plates and bearings, significantly enhancing blade guidance, longevity, straightness, accuracy, and cut quality. Carbide blade guides greatly reduce machine and blade wear. The unit is equipped with a high-performance coolant pump with a closed-loop coolant system. The saw arm is made from a solid cast-iron piece, paired with a 27 mm wide blade, allowing for efficient high-volume cutting of both profiles and solid materials. The vice is mounted on an adjustable base and features quick clamping. The blade guides utilize hard metal (carbide) plates and a rolling bearing system. It is the CARBIDE BLADE GUIDES that are responsible for the saw’s precision and straightness. The upper part of the base is shaped to form a tray for collecting coolant and chips generated during cutting. Attached to the base is a cast iron worktable with a swiveling arm and a control panel mounted on a separate arm. During cutting, the main cutting movement is provided by the moving blade, while the feed is controlled by the arm's descent. The descent speed of the arm (cutting speed) is adjustable using a hydraulic cylinder. Feed speed is controlled from the saw’s control panel. Two blade speeds are available: 35 and 70 m/min. In the lower position of the arm (after cutting is complete), the blade drive is automatically switched off. Safety is ensured by blade covers and micro-switches that stop the motor after the cutting cycle is finished or when any of the covers are opened. Additional protection includes an automatic stop in case the blade breaks.
