Machine Features

The CORMAK HBS260 is a horizontal metal-cutting bandsaw with a swivel arm, enabling cuts perpendicular to the material axis as well as at any angle from 0 to 60°. The material can be fed manually or with any mechanical device, while the tool feed is automatic. The blade guides are fitted with special carbide inserts and bearings, which significantly enhance blade guidance, lifespan, straightness, and cutting quality. The carbide guide system substantially reduces wear on both machine and blade. The machine is equipped with an efficient closed-circuit coolant pump.

The saw arm is made from a single-piece cast iron, and, with a 27 mm wide saw blade, enables high-volume cutting of both profiles and solid materials. The vise is mounted on an adjustable bed and is fitted with a quick-release mechanism. The blade guides are made from hard-metal carbide inserts and rolling bearing system. The CARBIDE BLADE GUIDES are responsible for the cutting precision and straightness.

The upper part of the base is designed as a tray for collecting coolant and chips generated during cutting. The base is fitted with a robust cast iron work table with a swiveling arm and a separate control panel arm. During cutting, the main cutting movement is the movement of the cutting blade, while the feed is by the downward movement of the saw arm. The rate of arm descent (cutting speed) is adjustable via hydraulic cylinder.

Feed speed is adjusted from the saw’s control panel. There are two selectable cutting blade speeds: 35 or 70 m/min. In the lower arm position (after cutting), the blade drive shuts off automatically. Safety is ensured by blade guards and micro-switches that stop the motor at the end of the cutting cycle or when any guard is opened. An additional safety feature automatically switches off the saw in case of blade breakage.
