The turning device consists of two opposing tables, each with a support surface of 1400 x 900 mm. On the side of the table that is at the bottom when tilting, the load-bearing steel profiles are angled upwards by 90°, ensuring that the slab being turned is held securely in a vertical position during a 90° rotation.

Both tables are arranged opposite each other and are swiveled by hydraulic cylinders through 100°. The tables are mounted on a load-bearing substructure, with one table fixed and the other movable against it. The movement is carried out by hydraulic cylinders that can shift the roller-mounted table by approx. 300 mm. The substructure also houses the hydraulic and electrical components.

The power unit is a hydraulic aggregate that supplies oil to the cylinders according to the control commands. The respective valves are actuated electrically and/or hydraulically, initiating and maintaining the required table movements in their interaction until the turning process is completed.

When designing the hydraulic system, particular attention is paid to operational safety and the sensitive switching of table movement between push and pull. Due to the geometry of the tables' rotation axes, the load effect changes on the tilt cylinders. The hydraulics are designed to ensure the required performance and to prevent overloading of the components during normal operation. Appropriate filters combined with a generously sized tank ensure a high availability of the hydraulic system.

The necessary electrical control system is housed entirely in a sheet steel cabinet containing all required components. The core of the control system is a PLC, which processes operating parameters according to the programmed specifications. Emergency stop functionality and all relays and evaluation units required for control are also included. Operation of the turning device is via a control panel with a touchscreen for entering function parameters, such as Table 1 rotate up, Table 1 rotate down, Table 1 forward, Table 1 backward, Table 2 rotate up, Table 2 rotate down, as well as automatic start or stop.

To prevent collision of the tables during manual operation, the PLC is programmed in such a way that this is ruled out using the table position and inclination data.

After resolving an emergency stop situation, the PLC control system automatically completes the turning process.

The turning device is equipped with heavy-duty casters and is therefore mobile.

We use several of these devices on a daily basis. This unit is unused.
