Tray heat sealing machine
Model: ILPRA FOODPACK 400 N
(Sold together with 5,000 trays and corresponding sealing film)
Machine for cutting and heat-sealing preformed trays using metallized film from a roll. Compatible with preformed trays made of plastic, aluminized material, and/or laminated cardboard.
Tray dimensions: max. = 280 x 32 h mm (in single row).
Mechanical operating speed: approx. 400 cycles/hour, depending on material used and characteristics of goods to be packaged.
Vacuum and gas flushing operation at speeds dependent on vacuum level (up to 4 cycles/min).
FUNCTION AND DESCRIPTION:

The FOODPACK 400N is a practical, robustly built machine. The tray conveyor movement and film unwind/rewind system are mechanically driven, while the sealing plate is pneumatically operated. The machine is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC).
The design of the FOODPACK 400N takes into account the high humidity typical of operating environments. All product-contact parts, such as the working surface and machine housing, are made from stainless steel (S/S).
Changing the machine over to a different tray format takes about 5 minutes.
MACHINE SECTIONS:
Tray loading section:
The loader is equipped with guides for the trays (which ensure filled trays are inserted in the correct position). After placing the tray in the mold, the operator activates the sealing lever. A position sensor ensures all successive operations occur only if trays are correctly positioned. After heat sealing, the operator returns the mold to the load position, removes the sealed tray, and loads the next tray for subsequent sealing operations.
Film unwinding and rewinding unit:
This unit automatically positions the required sealing film, unwinding it from the roll below the sealing and cutting station, and rewinds the surplus. An optional printer can mark the production/expiry date. As an option, a centering device can ensure accurate position of printed images on the metallized film sealing the tray.
Sealing and cutting sector:
Here, the film is cut and sealed onto the tray (cutting precisely to tray shape). Once the tray is positioned, the operator presses the START button to initiate the seal-cut cycle. Both the upper and lower molds are custom made to suit the user's selected tray and can be personalized. Sealing plate timing is electronically controlled, and each operation requires individual temperature programming. The sector features a quick-change mold system: releasing and fixing the upper mold requires only rotating a selector on the control panel.
Control panel:
Equipped with a temperature controller for sealing, a timer for sealing time adjustment, a keypad with display for machine functions, START and EMERGENCY STOP buttons, main power switch, and a rapid mold-change selector.
