The measurement process on the CNC-controlled inspection device is semi-automated: The respective actions required for the process are clearly displayed on the screen via operator guidance. The positioning of the individual cutters in the cutter head and the height of the cutter tips is performed largely automatically via a special process and is simultaneously documented in a run-out diagram. A subsequent measurement process checks the radial position of the inner and outer cutting edges of all cutters in the cutter head. If certain test parameters of the cutters do not comply with tolerance specifications, they can be individually re-positioned. Through the combination of a semi-automated adjustment process, operator-guided setup actions, and an automatic measuring process, cutter heads can be adjusted conveniently, quickly, and with high precision.
