Fully automatic workflow and minimal idle times thanks to freely programmable SIEMENS S5 PLC control for all processing steps such as rapid traverse, feed, cutter on/off, for the loading device, tailstock, optional shifting, etc., and with part counter, program numbering, and 30-stage numerical fault display.
Pneumatic workpiece loading and unloading device aligned parallel to the workpiece axis for shaft-type parts approx. 140 mm long x 8 mm diameter, with pneumatic double gripper for feeding and removing workpieces; blanks are loaded externally in exchange cassettes and inserted into the loading unit.
The double gripper places the parts between workpiece spindle and tailstock, the tailstock quill pushes the parts into the main spindle collet, clamping them simultaneously.
Finished parts are ejected from the main spindle and returned by the gripper to the (finished parts) cassette. The entire process is electronically monitored and controlled.
The entire loading device is enclosed in Plexiglas.
