The Pall CFS system is designed as a standalone unit and can be installed directly upstream of the filling line without the need for a buffer tank. It is a fully independent process module comprising the following components: filter vessel, piping and connections, membrane cleaning system (CIP), integrity testing module, and control panel. Its hygienic design, simple integrity testing, and full automation ensure the microbiological safety of the system and allow operation typically by the filling line staff.

In cluster filtration, filter elements are arranged in groups called clusters. Each cluster is equipped with its own outlet valve. During filtration, all clusters are open. Cleaning, sterilization, and integrity testing are performed per cluster.
