Machine Application Purpose

The SKINETTA series strapping banding machines are designed to tightly band individual products or multiple items together using polyethylene film. Unlike shrink wrapping machines, the wrap film is drawn tightly around the package before sealing. This tensioning is the chief advantage of the method, resulting in up to 20% less film consumption.

A particular advantage of the patented SKINETTA tensioning system is its infinitely variable, precise adjustability.

Sealing (welding) of the film takes place in a minimal space, resulting in a clean seal seam with very small overlaps. By adding a SKINETTAther or SKINETTAshrink heat tunnel and using a correspondingly wide film, the film excess extending beyond the package can be shrunk sideways. This process further stabilizes the package and prevents individual products from falling out of grouped packages. Complete closure of the package by sealing, cross-sealing, and side folding is possible with appropriate additional equipment.

The SKINETTA strapping banding machine range includes 6 basic types for processing film widths from 25 mm up to 200, 290, 440, 590, 790, and 1250 mm. To increase output, the machines are available in single-lane as well as two- to four-lane versions. In the SK series (semi-automatic), an operator groups products on the machine table. Film insertion and the subsequent banding process are triggered either by a footswitch or two-hand control. Later full automation is possible (except for type SK 200). In the ASK series (fully automatic), the products are fully automatically fed, grouped, and banded by appropriate additional equipment. A modular system of feeding, grouping, forming, and special units, based on over 20 years of experience, allows adaptation to a wide range of customer requirements using proven standard components.
