The Stork Townsend BBC1500W is a professional, automatic backbone cutter – a highly specialized deboning machine designed for high-performance slaughter lines and meat processing plants. It is primarily used for processing pork carcasses (especially bellies and middle cuts) as well as for large poultry (such as turkeys and geese), enabling precise removal or scoring of the spine and dorsal bones, which is crucial for product classification and commercial value.

The machine operates on the principle of automatic centering of the product within the working area. The product is guided along dedicated rails that stabilize the carcass directly before it comes into contact with the cutting disc, which features an optimally profiled tooth design. With a 1.5 kW drive motor, the cutter ensures clean and perfectly straight cuts, without bone splintering or tearing of adjacent muscles (such as loin or tenderloin). The use of a mechanical backbone cutter eliminates the need for heavy, hazardous, and inconsistent manual labor using cleaver saws or handheld splitters.
