This is a drill bit sharpening machine suitable for drill bits ranging from 8 to 30 mm, with an adjustable point angle from 90° to 140°.

Standard equipment includes: CBN grinding wheel for HSS drill bits (good for at least 3,000 drill bits).

A diamond grinding wheel for carbide drill bits is also available for €90.00.

Sharpening a drill bit is completed in three steps. First, the drill bit is clamped in a suitable fixture, followed by grinding and then point thinning. Ready in less than a minute!

Before clamping the drill bit, the drill diameter is set via a rotary knob on the machine. The drill bit, equipped with the appropriate collet, is aligned and clamped flush in the left holder of the machine.

Grinding of the cutting edges as well as point thinning is straightforward: switch on the machine, insert the drill with the fixture into the right holder, and gently rotate from stop to stop—first cutting edge finished. Then, rotate the fixture 180°, and grind the second cutting edge.

Point thinning is performed in the same manner, but in the upper holder. That’s it. Finally, turn off the machine and release the drill bit.

A brilliant idea combines an eccentric with a special grinding wheel, so you needn’t worry about cutting form or clearance angles. An additional benefit is that both cutting edges are produced perfectly symmetrically with the same setting, ensuring optimal cutting symmetry. Furthermore, the point angle can be freely chosen between 90° and 140° prior to grinding.

The grinding wheel offers a service life of over 3,000 operations. In addition to the standard CBN grinding wheel for HSS tools, a diamond wheel is available for carbide drill bits. The wheel can be changed in seconds with just a few simple steps.
