GENERAL INFORMATION
The SBO 6/10 features 6 molds and 10 heating modules. It is compatible with a wide range of bottle sizes and styles from 0.25 to 3 liters. Sidel’s two-stage PET stretch blow molding machines require previously produced preforms to be fed into the machine. Separating the processes of bottle and preform production allows for optimized production, increased operational flexibility, and provides higher productivity and yield.

PREFORM HEATING CONDITIONING
The preforms are conveyed to the heating conditioning unit with the necks facing upwards. This unit continuously ensures that the preforms are inverted before being presented neck-down in front of the heating modules, and then inverted again. During the heating phase, the preforms are rotated and their necks are protected from heat to optimize temperature distribution without deforming the neck. Heating is achieved through 10 heating modules. Each unit can accommodate up to 8 horizontally arranged infrared lamps, which are air-cooled at the ends. The heating output of 8 zones, corresponding to the 8 lamp rows, is adjustable to optimize the heat profile. These zones are regulated on all SBO models. After heating, preform temperature is monitored by an infrared camera to regulate the controlled zones, ensuring the maintenance of the required temperature.
