Technology:
All roller pairs are actuated for opening and closing via a valve island – eliminating any need for mechanical diameter adjustment. This removes unnecessary readjustment during setup changes. Should a raw timber log be slightly oversized, that’s no longer an issue.

The milling motors are started gently using soft starters before reaching full power output. Alternatively, for more challenging power supply networks, a frequency converter can be offered for ramp-up operations.

With a machining range between 30 and 400mm across all model series, these milling machines meet even the most specific requirements.

Efficiency
Control your own pace and productivity: first of all, by selecting between a single-head or double-head milling machine. For optimum surface finish, VKM machines operate their milling heads at higher rotational speeds. All machine components have been modeled with finite element analysis, reducing the number of parts – and thereby minimizing potential faults. The high spindle speeds of the milling heads guarantee especially high cutting speeds.

Depending on machine type, feed rates of up to 35 m/min can be achieved. The benefits? More speed, more precision, more performance.

Safety
Simple machine operation is achieved via centralized control at the operator panel. Directly adjacent are the mounted pressure regulators for the individual roller sections. Feed rates can also be reduced at any time, should operational requirements demand it. All doors are equipped with electric interlocks and can only be opened once the machine is at a standstill. This ensures maximum operator safety without compromising peak performance during ongoing operation.
