Our Machine Concept: WL 6
The WEIMA high-performance shredder, with its versatile range of applications, can process all types of wood materials (hardwood, softwood, chipboard, MDF, plywood, veneer offcuts, etc.) into fuel chips, achieving significant volume reduction, especially with bulky materials.
Functionality:
The machine is equipped with a large feed hopper, which can be loaded either by conveyor belt or manually. The hopper can be adapted to individual needs and ensures continuous and cost-effective material feeding without requiring manual intervention. The hydraulically controlled pusher feeds the wood waste to be shredded into the rotor cutting area, with automatic, load-dependent control. The internal pusher guides are made of highly wear-resistant plastic (polyamide) and are adjustable. Hydraulic cylinders are mounted in a gimbal suspension to avoid lateral forces on the piston seals. The patented, profiled V-rotor made from solid steel has a diameter of 252 mm and runs at a speed of 80–120 rpm. The concave-ground, aggressive, and four-way reversible knives/cutting crowns are mounted in milled knife pockets on special knife holders. The patented system guarantees high throughput, low energy consumption, and optimal discharge of shredded material thanks to a uniquely reduced cutting gap between counterknife and rotor.
A screen mounted beneath the rotor determines the chip size (10–100 mm). Upon request, a hydraulically opening screen basket is available. Power from the electric motors is transmitted via V-belts to a robustly dimensioned gearbox, which is mounted on the rotor shaft end.
Precise Cutting at High Throughput with Profiled V-Rotor
The V-rotor, developed by WEIMA, is universally applicable and made from solid material. Its aggressive material intake with up to two rows of knives guarantees high throughput at low power consumption. It can be fitted with hardened steel cutting knives in edge lengths of 30 mm and 40 mm, which can be rotated several times to significantly reduce maintenance costs.
Intuitive Operation Thanks to Siemens PLC Control with Touch Display
To ensure optimal alignment of electronics and machine, we design, build, and wire our switch cabinets ourselves – using only high-quality components from manufacturers such as Siemens and Rittal. Intuitive touchscreen interfaces guarantee quick adjustments. Functions such as adjusting the pusher cycle or stop ensure high throughput. Built-in overload protection prevents machine defects.
