In the past, the LT40 revolutionized the way ordinary people sourced timber for construction. Before the era of Wood-Mizer mobile sawmills, the customer had to transport logs to a sawmill running a stationary, energy-intensive, and inefficient machine. Once set, the cutting parameters could not be adjusted during processing, and the whole log had to be fed through the saw. Frame saw blades produced a wide kerf, generating a significant amount of waste, while the quality of the sawn material left much to be desired.
