Dadurch ist nicht nur eine hochpräzise Drahtzuführung auch bei niedrigen Geschwindigkeiten möglich, sondern auch die Einstellung der Rückzugslänge in „mm“. Nach dem Abkühlen des Materials kann der Draht zudem erneut vorgeschoben werden (kleinstmöglicher Schritt: 0,1 mm). Dies ist insbesondere beim Laserschweißen ein bedeutender Vorteil gegenüber Drahtvorschüben aus Fernost, da bei diesen Geräten Drahtvorschub und -rückzug zeitgesteuert sind. Das führt dazu, dass die Spitze des Schweißdrahtes nie exakt in die Ausgangsposition zurückkehrt. Der Citronix Drahtvorschub wurde so konzipiert, dass er nicht nur den Drahtvorschub steuert, sondern auch die Laserquelle sowie das Gas-Magnetventil schalten kann.
