The Steinert WDS is particularly effective in the processing of heavy media or iron ore with grain sizes between 1 µm and 3 mm. In heavy media regeneration, the wet drum magnetic separator is chiefly responsible for the recovery of magnetite or ferrosilicon (FeSi). Utilizing powerful neodymium-iron-boron magnets and a specially designed magnetic package, it achieves high field strengths, enabling separation rates of over 99%.
